does client transition happen seamlessly in WLC/3850 MC/MA deployment when client moves from AP connected to one 3850 MA to another AP that's connected to different 3850 MA? if yes then how does the traffic flows? does client retain same IP address or it changes?

A mobility agent is a function to manage a wireless client database that includes client association or authentication status. Each Cisco Catalyst 3850 switch stack produces one mobility agent that can manage up to 50 access points and up to 2000 wireless clients. The mobility agent is also responsible for providing access point connectivity and CAPWAP termination.
Mobility roaming, in which a wireless client moves from one physical location to another without losing connectivity and services at any time, can be managed by a single mobility controller if roaming is limited to a small number of access points that are physically located together. Roaming among a large number of access points can be managed by multiple mobility controllers in a mobility group.

Yes, roaming works seamlessly & IP keep retains. Ideal if you put both 3850MAs in same SPG. Refer below Ciscolive presentations for better understanding roaming traffic flow (page 37-53)
