Issue creating L4-L7 Device

I am running APIC version 1.2(1i) and am trying to setup/create an L4-L7 device - a virtual F5 running 11.5.1.  I have the latest F5 device package (version 1.2) installed as well.  I've walked through all the steps a bunch of times but I keep getting the same fault and I'm not sure what it means or how to resolve it:
Configuration is invalid due to no vlan/vxlan namespace found

I've not seen any guide (or video) that mentions the need to create any vlans/vxlans for this. In all the videos as soon as they click finish the state starts out as INIT, and then goes to STABLE.  Mine never gets past INIT though.  Has anyone run across this issue, or know how to resolve that fault?

Do you have a dynamic VLAN pool associated with your VM Domain? If you don't, that's likely why you're seeing this error. Also please make sure that you do not have all of the VLANs used up within the pool.

When we originally deployed this we did setup a Dynamic VLAN Pool, and we used a standard VMware VDS.  The pool has about 100 vlans in it.  Since then we created/started using the AVS in VXLAN mode and that is now the only VM Domain.  In the VM Domain setup I don't see anywhere to call out or specify any dynamic pools to use though.

When I go to Fabric-->Access Policies-->Pools-->VLAN and select the operational tab, it shows all of my pools (static and dynamic) and says 0 used for all of them.  All VM's seem to be working fine though and I can create new ones that work as well.

Are you running the AVS in VLAN or VXLAN mode? And is the virtual F5 running on the AVS hosts?

The AVS is running in VXLAN mode, and yes, the virtual F5 is running on the AVS hosts.

As of today, L4-L7 Device package integration isn't supported over AVS running in VXLAN mode. In 1.2(1x) code, L4-L7 device package integration over AVS running VLAN mode is supported. So that means you can either choose to use unmanaged mode, do no formalized integration (simply set up traffic flow using EPGs and contracts), or change your AVS to run in VLAN mode.
