Hello all,
I have a new APIC-M4 (C225-M6 chassis) that I'm installing, and I wanted to upgrade the software on it to the new 6.0.5(M) version, but before doing that I went to upgrade the CIMC version to the recommended version for 6.0.5(M). Per the Cisco Application Policy Infrastructure Controller Release Notes, Release 6.0(5) - Cisco , the CIMC version depends on whether you have a certain SFP connector on your Adapter 1:
4.3.2.230207 CIMC HUU ISO (recommended*) for UCS C220/C240 M5 (APIC-L3/M3) and UCS C225 M6 (APIC-L4/M4)

* We do not recommend this CIMC release if you have the SFP-10G-T-X connector type on the Cisco APIC data link ports (eth2-1 and eth2-2). To see which connector type you have, enter commands as shown in the following example:

So I went into my APIC-M4 CIMC to run those commands, and I discovered I don't have an adapter 1 :

Is this a problem to not show an "adapter 1" in my chassis ?
- Also, because I don't have an adapter 1 , I can't access the VIC in the CIMC GUI > Networking to make sure LLDP is disabled on the VIC per the Cisco APIC M4/L4 Server Installation and Service Guide - Installing the Server [Cisco Application Policy Infrastructure Controller (APIC)] - Cisco , the NIC Mode and NIC Redundancy Settings section.

Pro-tip - Next time drop the output into a txt file and attach that, so it doesn't blow out the thread
So your adapter is the Intel 10/25G SFP adapter, so you can ignore the HUU warning and proceed. Let the Host Update Utility update everything it can.

Hi, Robert, I am facing similar issue as the new M4-APIC, Admin is up, interface is up, operational state is up, but still showing switching state is disabled. I have tried to disable the LLDP in the UCS but no luck. See the inventory TX file. Putting it as a standby APIC to replace the M2 is tough in getting the switching state enabled.

@jafehi000 What is your symptom? - is the new controller not seeing LLDP to/from the switch? If that Intel 10Ge NIC came shipped with the controller there shouldn't be any configuration changes needed for it to discover. Check if you see LLDP on both the APIC & Switch side:
From APIC:
ethtool -i eth2-1 (Your port IDs may vary slightly)

From Leaf where APIC is connected:

show lldp neigboor no output. I just erased the standby apic from the controller and unable to get it working.
My plan is to replace the APIC M4 with M2 and after downgrading the M4 to 5.31d same with the M2, no luck with switching disabled. The M4 has RJ45 embedded card which requires SFP-10-TX, link profile changed for SFP 10G-TX on port 1/37 leaf switch---93180YC-EX but still no luck
