Explanation of an Error Message

[DELL ACORD]

On my syslog was an error message.

DEC 14 09:17:03 1/1 168 IPV4-4: Ipv4MasterProcessArpFrame: bad ARP packet received

Tried to run through the error message utility but got no output.

Can anyone explain exactly what this message is telling me?

I think it is self explanatory.

The CSS received an ARP request or response from another device directly connected and the packet was malformed.

If you got only one, that's nothing to worry about.

If you get more, you need to sniff the network and catch the station sending those malformed arp packets.
