Hi Community,
I am working on deployment and recovering WAAS service in my company. Some of modules were decommissioned in past (site was closed and all equipment moved to central office) some might be new one.
Situation.
There is a module.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXX#sh inventory NAME: "CISCO2911/K9", DESCR: "CISCO2911/K9 chassis, Hw Serial#: FCZ182260NM, Hw Revision: 1.0" PID: CISCO2911/K9 , VID: V07 , SN: XXXXXXXXXXX NAME: "Services Module with Services Ready Engine on Slot 1", DESCR: "Services Module with Services Ready Engine" PID: SM-SRE-910-K9 , VID: V01 , SN: XXXXXXXXXX NAME: "C2911 AC Power Supply", DESCR: "C2911 AC Power Supply" PID: PWR-2911-AC , VID: V05 , SN: XXXXXXXXXX
I am trying to enable it. I have configured router,
XXXXXXXXXXXX#sh run int SM1/0 Building configuration... Current configuration : 237 bytes ! interface SM1/0 description XXXXXX SRE module ip unnumbered GigabitEthernet0/1.173 service-module fail-open service-module ip address XXX.144.173.10 255.255.255.0 service-module ip default-gateway XXX.144.173.1 hold-queue 60 out end
it's NOT pingable:
XXXXXXXXX#ping XXX.144.173.10 Type escape sequence to abort. Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to XXX.144.173.10, timeout is 2 seconds: ..... Success rate is 0 percent (0/5)
Status is as following:
XXXXXXXXXXX#service-module sm1/0 status detailed Service Module is Cisco SM1/0 Service Module supports session via TTY line 67 Service Module is trying to recover from error Service Module heartbeat-reset is enabled Service Module is in fail open Service Module status is not available Module resource information: CPU Frequency: 1865 MHz Memory Size: 2530 MB Disk 0 Size: 500107 MB Disk 1 Size: 500107 MB Disk 2 Size: 2055 MB No install/uninstall in progress Localstore Info - (0 apps) ===================== Retrieving localstore information
However, I am able to open session to this module.

Moreover, I am able to move to:

However, whenever I try to install software it gets stuck in the same place:

And Next:

Complication:
I have tried many options to initiate installation and no result. It seems to be working as I am able to manage module inside but there is something else related to installation.
Dear community, may you advise how can I restore this module?

Hi Jan,
It appears that the module is "empty" i.e. does not contain valid software (new modules often comes this way).
You'll have to use the SRE installer and not the accellerator bin image.
See this thread : https://supportforums.cisco.com/t5/wide-area-application-services/software-upgrade-procedures-for-waas-sm-sre/td-p/1798396
Change SW-version though.
It appears that the latest SRE installer on CCO is 6.2.3c
Hope this helps ?
Best regards
Finm

Hello.
I do not know how but finally I managed install SW. The challenge was that installation was stopping for unknown reason. I have placed initial configuration again and somehow SW image deployment started.
Thank you
