The FTP server username and password are xx
the command I am using is ftp-record DEFAULT_FTP x.x.0.2 me "me" to setup the ftp-record.
I do not see any connection to the FTP server in the FTP logs.
Command using to upload the new image is:
copy ftp DEFAULT_FTP sg750004.adi boot-image

is the laptop in the same vlan as the CSS management port or is there a layer 3 device in between ?
Can't you move the laptop to a front port ?
Gilles.

Laptop connected directly into the management port on the CSS. Tried both straight thru and cross-over cables.

1/Do a 'Sh ip route' on the CSS and check the entries.Laptptop-connected CSS interface is normally a local connected one.
2/Delete the 'ip mangement route' if you think they are irrelavant and do not need them.
3/ use command 'socket connect host x.x.x.x port 21 tcp' to connect to the ftp port.
4/If still unsuccessfull, connect laptop to any CSS data port, 'bridge VLAN' that port and on your laptop use an ip address that belong to that VLAN.
