At a high level I have the following scenario:
Client-EdgeWAE-(WAN)-CoreWAE-6500-FWSM-External Host
Actually have 2 core 6500's with FWSMs and a single WAE core device (4.1.3). I have VLAN 100 assigned to the FWSM as the inside interface. Doing inbound wccp 61 on vlan 100 and inbound 62 on the WAN VLAN.
When the client accesses a server in VLAN 100, full optimization occurs. When a client tries to access anything beyond the FWSM, no optimization occurs. The edge WAE indicates no peer for the connection and the core WAE indicates asymmetric.
All other internal optimization and redirection is working fine.
Any thoughts on why optimization beyond the FWSM does not work? I did configure inspect WAAS on the FWSM and that didn't help.

Michael,
Is it possible that traffic coming back through the FWSM is coming into the 6500 through a different VLAN?
Would you mind providing a copy of the 6500 and FWSM configuration?
Thanks,
Zach

Zach - The FWSM route to the edge networks point to the VLAN 100 HSRP address on the 6500's.
I can't provide the entire configs, but can probably post the relevant pieces.
Thanks.
