We can make outgoing domestic calls with the SPA112 without problems, but when we call Germany from the UK, it only rings once and then goes dead.
Any suggestions?

Analysis of something like it require data to analyze.
Capture SIP session (SIP packets in both directions) of both successful and failing call. It may allow us to identify the cause. Also, consider to turn on syslog&debug messages of Voice Application and capture them - those may disclose something important as well.
Or give up on it and call your upstream VoIP provider for support (it should be able to help you even in the case it's configuration issue on your side) - but it may be paid service.

Debug and syslog Messages from SPA1x2 and SPA232D ATA
According capture of SIP packets - it depends on network topology and equipment you have. Generally, you need to have a computer/router/other device suitable to capture packets (even PC with Windows can be used), but your network switch needs to be configured to deliver packets you wish to capture to it. Ask your local network administrator for help.
