We have the same problem on two different 8845 phones, there is a steeady constant ticking or clicking noise coming through the handset. rerplacing the handset does not resolve the problem. Both phones were purchased at the same time back in 2016.
Problem with clicking on handset seems to be resolved with sip8845_65.12-5-1SR1-4 installed on it. The phone has been on the shelf for a year and a couple firmware upgrades, so cannot say which firmware release fixed it, but it appears to be fixed.
