Show IP for host devices

Hi,

In my 2.9.1.20250120 version Dashboard, some hosts device shows the IP and others no ... and i'm looking for help, since i'd like to search for mac / ip addresses and know the related connected port.

The topology has a switch TO-NewCore with an assigned ip for each vlan: there is also a discovery job for each vlan.

On this switch the ARP table correctly relates the MAC Address to the IP.
Lets take my laptop, which is connected to TO-ArmD, mac and ip:  E0:73:E7:CC:92:C0 - vlan 173

The TO-NewCore switch shows the mac / ip:

but when i look for that MAC, the dashboard shows only the connected device and no ip information.

How can i make it show the ip information?

Thanks

This is expected. CBD doesn't read the ARP table from switches, which means IP addresses may not always be visible for all hosts. IP information for a host is only available under specific conditions, such as when the host supports LLDP or when it is in a network managed by a Probe and its IP is learned by Probe through an ARP scan.

Hi Mark,

thanks for the quick answer: I understand.

Its a shame because the information is already there and would be a great feature inside the Dashboard. Will this feature be included in the next releases or it's just a "non expected" one?

thanks

f

Currently, this feature is not in the backlog for CBD. I have forwarded your feedback to the CBD product team for consideration in future updates.

Thanks Mark,

have a nice we!
