Hi,
In Cisco Prime, we had the Copy and Replace feature, which allowed us to replace an access point with any other AP, regardless of the model. I’m trying to achieve the same in Cisco Catalyst Center, but I’ve read that it only supports replacements between identical models. Is that correct?
I have a number of disconnected 2700-series APs that I want to replace with CW9166I-E units. All the new APs are already discovered and assigned to the same site.
However, when I mark a 2700 AP for replacement, I don’t see the CW9166I-E devices listed under the "Choose Replacement Device" section.
Am I missing a step here, or is cross-model replacement not supported in CCC?
Thanks in advance!

Cat-C does not have this feature unfortunately. You can "make a wish" for this under one of the menus in the top right of the UI.

So, what’s the recommended approach to achieve what I want — is manual replacement the only option? Also, what is Cisco’s reasoning behind removing the 'Copy and Replace' feature that was available in Prime?

AFAIK that is the best way to do it. If you have a lot of access points that need to be replaced it is possible to automate it using a separate automation tool.

@Moudar AP refresh workflow in Catalyst Center is designed to do just that.

Is there a workflow for when the old accesspoint is still operational?
