Cisco Catalyst 9500 - DNA Licence

Hi Community,

I am looking forward to purchase a new Catalyst 9500 switch, however I have two questions than seems to not have any clear answer in the documentations.

- IS DNA Licence mandatory or optional

- Is the Q-in-Q (dot1q tunneling) available

Even if you don't need DNA then also you need to buy Add-on DNA Term license for minimum 3 years.

After that it all depend on you whether you want to reactivate it or not. Even if you don't reactivate it, your switch will work permanent license which will be either NE or NA.

Cisco recently changed the full DNA license to DNA Premier. If you are trying to do the whole 9 yards when it comes to SDA you will require both network advantage and DNA premier licensing per NAD. Good luck & HTH!
