DNA Center 0 day Plug and Play dhcp

Hello !

I'm trying to test the DNA Center's plug and play functionality using DHCP.

I added the option 43 as specified in the documentation and used the pnp startup-vlan on the core switch. The PNP switch gets an IP address when plugged to the uplink switch. However, the DNA Center doesn't detect the device.

PS : Is the pnp device supposed to reach the DNA Center by ping ? The DNA Center and the device aren't on the same network, and I don't have routes between the two of them.

Any ideas on what might be the problem ?

Thanks !

Yes, the PnP client (the switch) needs to have IP connectivity to the DNA Center IP (the one you specified in option 43) (probably using the default gateway provided by DHCP). The client will create a HTTPS connection to DNA and that is when you can see it in the DNA PNP Inventory as Unclaimed.
