Hi all,

I ran the DNA-C upgrade from 1.3.0.147 to 2.1.2.0 (or 1.5.208 as it shows in the GUI when upgrading), but it has failed with the updates status:

System update status:
Version successfully installed : 1.3.0.147
Version currently processed : 1.5.208
Update phase : failed
Update details : Node update took longer to complete in 172.26.144.1 [ version 1.5.208 phase 10 ]
Progress : 68%

Updater State:
Currently processed version : 1.5.208
State : FAILED
Sub-State : INSTALLED_HOST_COMPONENTS
Details : Node update took longer to complete in 172.26.144.1 [ version 1.5.208 phase 10 ]
Source : system-updater-standby
Abort pending : Not available

Does any know what i should do to get it back online? I'd like to either go back to my existing version or try the upgrade again. I have not tried rebooting it as wasn't sure if this could cause issues.

Please go ahead and Open a Cisco TAC Case with the Cisco DNA Team.  For this issue, it is better that the Cisco TAC Engineer triage the issue and perform the necessary tasks to resolve your upgrade issue.

Resolving upgrade issues in this forum can be a challenge.   I would suggest the following:

  • Please run "sudo rca" from the CLI of the Cisco DNA Center and have this available to upload to the Cisco TAC Case
  • Also, please download and run the "AURA" tool on your Cisco DNA Center Cluster and have the Report and logs also available for the Cisco TAC Case.

Thanks for you quick reply - it is much appreciated. Unfortunately, we don't currently have support for this one - we have the quote, but it is taking a long time to get signed off.

I'll have a look at the AURA sites you sent over and see what i can get setup.

In the meantime, would you recommend anything like rebooting to help solve the issues, or do you think it is better not to touch it curretly?

When you purchase the Cisco DNA Center, support was required and you should have support on this applianace.  Rebooting the Appliance will not fix things.

Running the AURA report will help identify and errors or warnings that need to be cleaned up prior to the upgrade.  This is why you need to get in contact with the Cisco TAC or your Cisco Account representative or Partner.

Thanks for your help Tomas - i'll see if i can get the AURA file uploaded and try and get the support pushed through.

Did anyone yet successfully upgraded DNAC 1.3.3.7 to 2.1.2.0
