Odd question, but how "Normal" is a Cisco server. Can we take an older DNAC and reuse as a windows server? There is a lot of RAM/CPU/SSDs in these to go to waste.

Cisco Build appliance based on the requirement, even though they mentioned as UCS Server, in Front you clearly see DNAC, PRIME . WSA so on .. so underlay they use same hardware but it is customised.
if you looking to use as windows server, should have purchased UCS Server for that purpose, not to spend very huge amount on DNAC.,
I see some successs cases DNAC can be installed on UCS with 44 CPU, so you can use both purpose if you like (offlically not supported but it can be done).

Well, we got DNA basically free as when we did a switch upgrade if we bought DNA, we got discounts on the switches that paid for DNA. But, now that the initial licensing is coming to an end, we decided to remove DNA as we were quoted 1.8Mil for 3 years to license DNA again. We were only using assurance and definitely not useful enough for that price. So, right now I have an expensive brick as I expected.

Make sense for your kind of proposal.
Maybe another suggestion is time to sell this box for vendors, once you get money back Buy a new UCS Server.
