We are setting up a test environment in vSphere that will use VMs and need to emulate customer’s physical switches and routers.
We have CML running on an ESXi Server.
As a first test, a customer has provided us with a 3850 fiber switch configuration file and something called a TPL file.
Based on our understating, they use in-house software that sets up the switch with a TPL file and then pushes the configuration file to the physical switch.
Our first goal is to set up the 3850 in CML, then use their in-house software to set up the switch with a TPL file and then pushes the configuration file to the physical switch.
- Can CML emulate the 3850?
- Which image should be used to create/emulate the 3850?
- Will we be able to initialize the switch with the TPL and push the configuration file from a VM running the in-house software
