CML2 Upgrade from 2.1.2 to 2.2.3

Hi,

I am running CML 2.1.2 on VmWare workstation and i am thinking to upgrade to 2.2.3.

Before beginning the upgrade is it safer to de-register your account first before installing the new RPM file ?

Then proceed to cockpit and update the server ? 

And what is the level of successful updates, does it work ok after the update ?

If this VMWARE, i take a snapshot and do an in-place upgrade :
