Proximity Upgrade Issues

I am having issues upgrading my Proximity application.  I believe this is due to a firewall restriction, but I need a better understanding of where the application is trying to go in order to upgrade.  I currently have whitelisted *.cisco.com, and I’m still having issues.

When connected to a different network I can successfully upgrade.  As this is not just my computer, this workaround is not a solution for my company.

The log indicates you did not have sufficient permissions to replace the application with the new version. How was the app installed? We have seen this error e.g. if the app is installed using one user, and a different user with less privileges tries to upgrade.

There might be some hints to what's happening if you check the logs. They are placed under /tmp/ (open Finder and hot command-shift-g, enter "/tmp/") and have names on the form proximity-<date>_<time>-<something>.log

If you don't mind, you can upload the log file here and we can have a look.

After initial issues, I am finding that I am having issues upgrading now no matter what network I am on.  Uninstalling Proximity and downloading the latest version from the website is the only option I've seen work consistently.

Here is a log showing the issue going from version 2.0.3 to 2.0.5.

The log indicates you did not have sufficient permissions to replace the application with the new version. How was the app installed? We have seen this error e.g. if the app is installed using one user, and a different user with less privileges tries to upgrade.

Follow up:  Went to Applications > Cisco Proximity > Get Info.  Then unlocked the security and added myself as a read/write user.  I've confirmed the update worked with this change.

For reference:  The app on version 2.0.3 was installed from JAMF Self Service.  I had permissions to move the app to trash and download version 2.0.5 from the website, but I wanted to get the upgrade to work.  The steps above solved the upgrade.

Thank you for your assistance mneergaa.
