Automatically select softphone mode when working over VPN

We are currently running Jabber version 11.9.3 with CUCM version 11.5.1.13901-3.  We are in the process of rolling jabber out to our end users but the question came up.  Is it possible to auto-select Softphone mode (Use my computer for calls) when working from home over our VPN and auto-select Deskphone mode (Use my desk phone for calls) when working from the office?  I looked through the jabber-config.xml documentation and was only able to find where to set the default value. (Currently Deskphone mode)  Is it possible to set the calling mode to be location aware?  I hope that makes sense.

No, that setting is not location aware, it's a hard-coded value.

Are there plans to make this a feature in a future update?
