Hi, I am new, so I would like to know how to estimate a cliend license for webex. The client request was to buy webex license but as software, I mean like a team viewer because they are not ready to buy all cisco services at once. I was looking at webex ordering guide, so Should I order CUCM also? or could someone please give me a hand with this?

Hi there

Warm welcome here to this great community !!!

I can give you a brief overview of how the WebEx licensing works. Basically there are 3 cost factors,

The three major pricing components when it comes to WebEx are,

  1. User(host)license cost
  2. Audio cost
  3. Storage cost

  1. User(host)license
    1. Named Users - Typically if you know who needs the facility. Great for small companies (less than 200 users).
    2. Active Users – Mostly for Larger companies. In this Cisco will charge you for the average number of users during a month-long time. Cisco recommends this for new companies for the significant savings.
    3. Enterprise License – Select this if your organization have more than 40% of users are active in hosting during a month time.

  1. Audio cost
    1. WebEx Audio – You can buy minutes in lumps and pay as you grow.
    2. Cloud Connected Audio (CCA) – New model, aiming large customers, all traffic becomes VoIP
    3. Third Party – You basically buy a 3rd party and separate your audio from Cisco WebEx. Check with your local ISP on regulations and restrictions.

  1. Storage cost
    1. I believe 2.5GB includes with user license. if you expect to grow beyond, you have to consider more space.
