Cisco J4W Softphone mode

Hello community,

just facing a strange issue with Jabber for Windows in softphone mode.

If the client is unregistered or the PC is shutdown, we got an error message coming from the ISP that this number is not assign.

So I'm able to rebuild this in our lab and we're facing the same problem.

Just for a workaround I configured a DN without an association to a hardphone. On the CFS device I configured a CFUR internal/external to this particular DN but I got the same "error" message.

Is there any solution to avoid this "error" message with a workaround ? Just want to get a Ringback tone to the calling party.

Thanks,

Stefan

i tried to complete a lab recreate for this in my lab; using J4W versiion 9.2.6 and did not see the same symptom; that you mentioned.

here is what i found;

-> For when i didnot configure CFUR (int/ext) it gives a fast busy; and when i do configure CFUR ; it obeys the settings at the device level; i my case i set it to voicemail and it did work it appropiately.

Hi,

thanks for your reply.

Sounds that you running J4W in deskphone mode. In our situation the customer only has J4W in Softphone mode.

If I call the Softphone client (which is unregistered without any CFUR configuration) from my cellphone

> I got a ringback tone -> fine!

If I call the same Softphone client from my deskphone - it is in erverytime an external call

> I got an message that this number is not assign .....

It looks like it depends from ISP.

I also trace from the h323 gateway - debug isdn q931.

My testing was limited to softphone CSF mode as you mentioned in your initial post; though i am not placing an external call when i test ; all my calls are set internal.
