Cisco Jabber Authentication

Hi,

I am wondering from where Cisco Jabber takes authentication to log on into it. I have 1 Cisco VCS-C and 1 Cisco TMS. The username and password are on Cisco TMS using the local database. However, if I disconnect the TMS from network I log on into Cisco Jabber, the log on is successful.

netstat cmd shows that the Jabber contact only Cisco VCS for authentication and logs on successfully.

My question: How the VCS is authenticating the Jabber ? I am running Software version X6.0 and local database for users.

Thanks,

Elie

I am using  version x6.0 and there is noi option for username and password. form where this jabber gets the username. Netstat shows it ony contacts the VCS.

Hi Elie,

Once you set up the replication between the TMS and VCS all the provisioned gets replicated and also holds on VCS opends database (old tms legace mode).

So even though you disconnect the TMS from the network vcs still have the data in its daatabase and when you try to login it takes the user information from the VCS database and the login works.

i hope it clarifies you doubt.

Thanks
