Cisco Jabber Room Notifications

We have recently enable persistent chat but are seeing an issue regarding new message notifications within Jabber.  One on one chats show when a new message has been posted but no such notification shows when a new message is posted into a room the user is a member of.  It's causing them to miss fresh messages.
 
Anyone any ideas?  Can't see anything obvious in IM&P

A quick research showed that there’s been some issues with the notifications over persistent chat. 

 

Just curious if you are hitting this bug

Symptom:
Jabber users do not see chat room history after logging in, and room filters are not active

Conditions:
CUCM IM&P 10.5.2
Stream management (XEP-0198) enabled
Jabber user has multiple persistent chat rooms bookmarked

Workaround:
Disable stream management

Thanks for the reply. We are running System version: 11.5.1.15900-33 so not affected by that bug I think.

Hi yes I got an answer from TAC:

 

Issue is related with defect CSCva98286 https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCva98286/?reffering_site=dumpcr

In jabber-config.xml file you have configured:

<disable_im_history>true</disable_im_history>

 

This configuration affects notifications for persistent chat rooms. We don't have fix for this defect at this moment so I suggest to change configuration in jabber-config.xml file.

I'm not sure if you would able to answer this, but we have it set to delete regular chat after 1 day (ie...all my chats will be deleted after 1 day) - will this setting in the xml file affect that setup?

Also, when you edited the jabber-config file - did you have to edit the jabber-group-config file was well?
Did you have to restart any sort of service.?

Hi, is this issue fixed? Because with Jabber 12.5.1 we still dont have notification for Chat Rooms.

We get a Notification when the message comes in, but not as a Red bubble next to rooms.

This is for Jabber on Windows 7 and 10.

 

But with Jabber for iPhone we get a red bubble notification.
