CWMS 2.8 Internal Certificate - using Microsoft CA

Has anyone had any luck using an internal Windows 20XX box that runs the CA role for the Internal cert for CWMS?  If so, can you explain the process (convert .pem to valid format, etc)

I'm not sure which template to use to create the certificate (ie. Web Server).

CWMS uses Apache/Tomcat format for SSL certs.
