CWMS Install "Invalid URL"

Gordon Ross

I'm trying to install CWMS 2.5.1.29.B-AE

When asked to provide URLs, the setup tool keeps on saying "Invalid URL", with no indication as to what is wrong.

I'm supplying the WebEx Site URL as "cwms-1.example.com/meetings" and the Administration URL as "cwms-admin.example.com/mgmt"

According to the documentation my URLs are valid, and the do resolve to the private VIP address.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Hi Gordon,

You will need to remove everything after /, for example:

WebEx Site URL:  cwms-1.example.com

Admin SIte URL:  cwms-admin.example.com

Usually, WebEx Site URL is something like: meetings.example.com, or conference.example.com. It is better to use something the end users will easily remember.

Hi,

Are you in the process of new install or at some other stage?

For setup URL, it will be displayed on the Splash screen in vCenter Console of the Admin VM and you need to  enter it manually to complete the deployment of Admin VM.

Not sure if I understand your issue completely, so please provide us with more information.

Thank you.

That works, thanks. Someone in Cisco needs to understand the difference between a hostname and a URL....

Hi Dejan

I have same error. Invalid URL :-(

Can not continue installation CWMS.

See atach with nslookup from vCenter CWMS VM and error message from deploy.

My deployment without IRP. CWMS version 2.0.

Please help with any ideas.

WebEx site URL and Admin site URL need to be using a full FQDN.

For example:

1. Admin Site URL:   admin.domain.com

2. WebEx Site URL:  wbx.domain.com

-Dejan

Thanks Deyan.

I know this and agree with you.

But I painted domain on screenshots.

Any suggestion?

I resolved my issue.

FQDN can not have any digit in domain part after dot. Only letters.

br Oleksandr

Thank you for sharing this, Oleksandr. It is a good piece of information to keep in mind.
