We use LDAP Authentication for Cisco WebEx Meeting Server 2.0 logins. CWMS synchronizes and receives its updates from Call Manager, and Call Manager synchronizes and receives its updates from Active Directory. The problem I have is when an active CWMS user changes email addresses (maybe from maiden to married name). When our security team updates the email address in Active Directory and CWMS receives the update, a second CWMS account is created for that user, which means the user has to generate new personal conference numbers under the new account. Is there a way for CWMS to update the email address rather than create a new account, so that our users can continue to use their existing personal conference numbers?

Hi Dawn,
Unfortunately, this is a major product limitation on CWMS side as e-mail address is used as the unique identifier for the user. We do have an enhancement request submitted for this: CSCut09700 US42082 - Change user's email address - change email from LDAP.
Please, share this enhancement request with your Cisco Account Team, and they can push this with Product Management team to include it in the future release of the product.
Kind regards,
-Dejan

Hi Dejan,
Has there been any improvement with this limitation? We are running CWMS 2.6.1.2097.B-AE.
Thanks,
Matt

Hi Matt,
CWMS 2.7 will bring the option to change user's e-mail address without creating new profile and losing old meetings.
