Does jabber for iOS/android devices still support the use of anyconnect mobile vpn???
I know this was supported back in the day, found some write ups on it from way back in 2012, but just want to know if it would still work today or is this no longer supported?
I understand this is not the recommended solution, and ideally we'd use an expressway. I don't believe I will be able to make that sale to management at this time, but if I can demonstrate value add via anyconnect perhaps it would make the idea of an expressway more appealing in the future.

I am not good in security, is there a different between any connect mobile vpn and other vpn clients ?
using a VPN, we are like sitting in the office. If jabber can resolve UDS record and register with CUCM it works. I have seen organisation still using different VPN applications on their mobile devices to connect with the office and use Jabber.

Well I'm the exact opposite, I'm a security guy and not really into collaboration, but here I am...
Any-connect mobile is Cisco's iOS/android VPN app, I imagine it works similarly to the desktop client which connects the device via VPN tunnel to the inside of the Cisco ASA/FTD firewall. Once connected to the VPN, all LAN network resources (all of the ones that have been permitted at least) should be available to the client. On my network our CUCM and DNS servers are permitted access from the VPN.
I know that this used to be an acceptable solution via Cisco configuration guides, (https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/products/collateral/security/asa-5500-series-next-generation-firewalls/guide_c07-717020.pdf) but I need to verify that this will still work before I can recommend to management that we upgrade our any-connect licensing to the premium version that supports use of any-connect mobile?

Jabber client need reachability to your internal DNS, UC applications, and your IP phone subnets. if you can provide it through the any connect vpn, jabber will work.
