Expressway needed for Jabber mobile

Quick question.  Does anybody know if you need Expressway for Jabber to work on mobile devices remotely?

You want to use jabber on a mobile device outside your firewall? Is that the question then yes. 

Then expressway-e is needed with an expressway-c on the inside of your network.   Unless the device has a vpn to connect back.
