How do you view what the current settings are in the current jabber xml files if they are not encrypted .dat files that can't be opened with notepad. We want to know what the existing config is and possibly make changes.
It's the files in C:\Users\****\AppData\Roaming\Cisco\Unified Communications\Jabber\CSF\Config
We also looked for the files via the tftp server and they were not there. we only see them on the local machines that jabber is installed on but they are .dat files that we can't open.

Yes, the PRT contains the logs and configuration files, jabber-config.xml included.
Jabber documentation explains how to format the .xml (assuming you're not running CUCM 12.5 where it's a UC service) and there's a whole parameter reference document dedicated to every parameter that can go into the .xml
You'd need to review all the parameters to determine which would be needed in your deployment.

Generate a PRT from the client.
There are no default jabber-config.xml files in any CUCM release, so, unless you have created one and uploaded it to your CUCM server, you won't find one.

thank you for replying. What do you mean generate a PRT from the client? Generate a problem report file?
Also, how would we know what to put in one if we wanted to upload one with a few specific settings that we want to add to it?
