Jabber closes unexpectedly

Hi,

 

here we run Jabber Version 10.5.2 Build 45439 on Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1.

Some users complain that Jabber closes unexpectedly sometimes. Some users tell us it even closes itself every ~2hours (atleast not while calling).

I looked over that problem and Jabber just closed, no error message, no running cisco process. Just one little "hint" that jabber was open: The icon in the taskbar in the bottom right corner is still there, but when "touching" it with the mouse arrow it immediately disappears.

 

Here i found that such bugs were fixed in 9.2.0:

But it seems, and i read that also from other forums, that such problams still exists in up to date versions.

 

What can i do to get rid of this problem? What else information do you guys need to help me?

Does no one have an idea what could help? I also could upload event logs from example users. Just tell me which logs (security, setup, application, system...)

Hi Christian,

When jabber crashes it will usually launch the PRT tool (problem report) automatcially to get the crash dump generated. Does it generate any such dump for you? The cause can be found only after analyzing the crash dump.

Same issue with 10.6.0 Build 52330.

Just installed Win7 (64-bit) SP1

Leave myself logged into Jabber each evening.

Each morning I come in, start a group chat with my staff and within 10 minutes Jabber is gone.

My manager recently upgraded to the same and now he is experiencing the same problem.

What do you need to help get this resolved?

I'm having the same problem on a Win7 64 bit PC.  My old PC was a 32 bit and it worked fine, this was with 10.5, 10.6 and then all of the latest 11.x versions.  When I moved over to a new PC a few months back Jabber will open and work fine and then for no reason close.  The icon stays in the bottom right corner of the taskbar but is not open.  No crash reports or anything else fishy.  It seems to happen every 2 hours or less, no pattern that i can find.  This using the latest version 11.7.1.

I'm having the same issue. Did you find a solution for this issue? We are using Jabber 12.7.0 and also tried with the latest version 12.7.1 and Jabber keeps closing after a 10 or 15 minutes.

Also seeing this issue, immediately (not after 10 to 15 minutes) with users on Jabber 12.7.1 running Windows 10 (version 1809). Anyone else?

I am also experiencing this issue. It seems to have started misbehaving a month or so ago. I tried running the Control Panel 'Repair' for the app but it did not help. I'm now keeping a closer eye on the app and have opened an internal helpdesk ticket.
