Hello all ,
I am in the middle of an issue ,that is my CUCM and CUP is successfully integrated with AD LDAP but I am unable to see any users when I login to jabber and search for contacts by typing the first letter of a username . I have 300 users so its not feasible to add them manually.
Would you please Share your SUCCESS STORIES in doing this ,because I tried several ways and it didn't work yet.
Thanks in advance

I believe you need at least three characters before Ambiguous Name Resolution (ANR) will kick in.
Also, are you using BDI or EDI here?
Which Jabber client: Windows, Mac, iOS, etc?
Post your jabber-config.xml (sans password if BDI)

You dont necesarily need to set the jabber-config.xml with an AD server
by default, jabber will use the EDI API of the operating system for directory lookup. If your machines are on the domain there should be no need to set directory lookup.
Can you send us a problem report after having done a directory lookup. thanks

Hi,
I am facing exactly same problem,
In may case I am connected over VPN to my network.
I am not able to search users, however I can forcefully add them and after that everything is fine, I can see there status and chat with them.
I have also tried jabber-config.xml, didn't worked.
I am using EDI.
CUCM 8.6.2.21900-5
CUP 8.6.4.10000-28
Jabber On Windows 9.2.0 Build 496

Finally Worked with me .. I just installed jabber in an AD domain member and it worked without the jabber-config.xml file and could also search for users .
Thanx all

I have this problem as well. I have not yet added the jabber-conf.xml to tftp. I simply placed it in
Library/Application Support/Cisco/Unified Communications/Jabber/CSF/Config on my Mac. In the trouble reports I do see this configuration.
But the directory search just stays stuck in "Searching"

Hi,
I found solution in my case.
I have created jabber-group-config.xml
CUPS Server Address: Put server address of CUP
XYZ@ABC.com: FQDN of user who has full access to directory
PSW: Password for XYZ@ABC.com
Uploaded "ciscocm.addcsfsupportfield.cop.sgn" and restarted TFTP service, as I wanted to apply changes to group of phones.
That added,
Desktop Client Settings
Cisco Support Field
Under CSF configuration.
I have added "configurationfile=jabber-group-config.xml" in that field.
Cleared cache of Jabber by deleting "config" folder at following path
Windows 7
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Cisco\Unified Communications\Jabber\CSF
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Cisco\Unified Communications\Jabber\CSF
Windows XP
%SYSTEMROOT%\Documents and Settings\user_name\Local Settings\Application Data\Cisco\Unified Communications\Jabber\CSF
%SYSTEMROOT%\Documents and Settings\user_name\Application Data\Cisco\Unified Communications\Jabber\CSF
login and logout 2 times.
login 3rd time and wait for 2-5 mins and then try to search.
Make sure all other Jabber setting are in place like Owner User filed is added on CSF page, CSF client is associated with end user etc...
Hope this helps.
