Jabber for Windows Can't select a Location

Hi

My Jabber for Windows can't select a location.

I go to File Options - Location and the Reassign and Create a new location name can't be Selected

The Enable Locations and Tell me when location are detected are both checked.

No other defect or bug to remark about.

Contacts show and status is available, phone services activated

Jabber for Windows Version 11.8.3

Has this been experienced and resolved by any other Jabber Users?

Were you able to resolve this problem yet?

I can tell you, I haven't noticed any problems with CJ4W v11.8.2 or v11.8.3 using CUCM v10.5.2.12901-1 and IM&Presence v10.5.2.22900-2. Which version of CUCM and IM&P do you have?

What does your jabber-config.xml file look like? Any custom jabber-config.xml files would be stored on your TFTP servers. If you didn't create any, then Cisco Jabber applies the default settings which you can find here;

*Seach for 'Location'

What happens if you uncheck the 'Tell me when new locations are detected' box, then select Apply and Ok. Next, proceed to logout of Cisco Jabber. Within the Jabber MENU icon, under File > select "Reset Cisco Jabber". And finally, try logging back into Cisco Jabber.

Apperanetly a bug if you are meeting the conditions. Your best bet is to open a case with Cisco

Description
Symptom:
Jabber user has saved locations. User though in a saved location is sporadically thrown the message "new location"

Conditions:
Windows 7 64, Jabber 11.8.3, 11.9.1, 12.0

Workaround:
None so far
