Jabber IM Contact Photo issue on iPhone and iPad

Hi,

We are currently running CUP 8.6.3 and we have setup under Application -> Cisco Jabber -> Settings the Photo URL in the Cisco Jabber LDAP Attribute Mapping. The current issue we are facing now is

  1. If the URL is set to http://mycompany.example.com/photo/std/%%sAMAccountName%%.jpg, when we login to the Jabber on iPad, we can see the contact photo. However on the Jabber IM on iPhone we are not able to see the contact photo.
  2. If the URL is set to http://mycompany.example.com/photo/std/%%uid%%.jpg, we are able to see the contact photo on Jabber IM on iPhone but we cannot see the contact photo in Jabber on iPad.

Anyway to configure it so that both Jabber on iPad and Jabber IM on iPhone can see the contact photo? Appreciate it if anyone can share any advise on how to resolve this issue. Thanks

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Can you please share what version for Jabber IM on Iphone you are using and Exact version fo Jabber for IPAD.

If possible can you please send problem report from both jabber for IPAD and Jabber IM for Iphone ?

Thanks

Sri Gudavalli

Hi Sri,

  The versions are as follows:

Cisco Jabber Version 1.0.0 (6808)

Jabber IM Version 1.0.1 (23390)

And logs are attached.  Currently it is set to http://mycompany.example.com/photo/std/%%sAMAccountName%%.jpg and the photos are showing up on the iPad but not the iPhone.

  Regards

Daniel

Hello!

We have the same issue...have you found a solution?

Cisco Jabber for iPad 1.0.0 (6808)

Cisco Jabber IM for iPhone1.0.1 (23390).

Thanks in advance,

Mirko

Hi Mirko,

We managed to open a TAC for this issue and was informed that this is a bug where Jabber IM for iPhone is not able to substitute the sAMAccountName with the actual name.

Has been informed last week that there is going to be a new client release very soon which is version 1.0.(2). The photo issue is fixed in that version.

Still waiting for the new version.

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

thanks for your reply.

We will wait for the new release of Jabber IM and I hope this is really soon available.

Regards,

Mirko
