When I opened Cisco Jabber today it asked for a reset, when i cancelled the reset it completely logged me out and when I logged back in it completely reset my settings. My question is why was it asking for a reset and why did it reset all of my settings.

Generate a problem report and examine it. If you cannot determine the reason for that behavior you should open a TAC case and provide them with the problem report for examination.

What I have seen is if there is configuration change at the backend then Jabber will prompt you to reset the configuration. Once you reset and login again it will have all your existing contacts in place but all your chat and call history will be erased.
