Route Pattern and Unassigned DN limit CUCM 12.5/ Clusters size reduction from 16 node to 7 node

Hi Experts,

I am going to upgrade the hardware and CUCM for my customer in which the current version is 10.5 and the future version is 12.5.

I went through the sizing for this and hardware compatibility. I have a few queries which I was not able to find in sizing or understand it.

Current CUCM  Cluster size: 1 Pub 2 TFTP 13 Call Processing

Number of RP's: 4000 (Approx)

Number of unassigned DN: 60K(Approx)

Number of Phones: 6000(Approx) Customer migrating End Points to different Collaboration Solution and want to reduce the Cisco UC part.

System version: 10.5.2.17900-13

VMware Installation: 2 vCPU Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2643 0 @ 3.30GHz, disk 1: 110Gbytes, 6144Mbytes RAM, Partitions aligned

Now, there are two activities that we want to do:

1. Consolidation of SME Cluster into the current CUCM Cluster described above.

SME sizing: 3 Nodes

System version: 10.5.2.17900-13

VMware Installation: 2 vCPU Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2643 0 @ 3.30GHz, disk 1: 110Gbytes, 6144Mbytes RAM, Partitions aligned

After the Consolidation, CUCM Cluster will have below:

4000+ RP's

75000+ DN's unassigned

6000+ Phones

2. Upgrade consolidated  CUCM to 12.5 on new Hardware.

I see that the minimum H/w required for 7500 OVA on12.5 is C240 M5SX TRC#1.

I need some help as to what approach should be followed here as we don't want to tell the customer to buy 4 C240 M5SX TRC#1, to accommodate 16 VM's (7500 users OVA each) which will not have more than 6000 Phones?

Question 1: Will I see any capacity issues consolidating the SME to the current CUCM cluster as it will add an additional 20K Unassigned DN's, 1000+ Route Patterns, etc?

Question 2: How do we reduce the number of nodes (changing CUCM Group on DP's and remove the rest of the nodes?) and make sure all the RP's and Unassigned DN's (after SME consolidation) are fine even if we remove few call processing nodes?

Currently, we would need 7 nodes (7500 User ova each) cluster on 2 UCS C240 M5SX TRC#1 , considering the number of users/phones are between 5000-10000. Not sure if it will be able to handle 4000+ RP's and 70K+ Unassigned DN's.

Please help.

Thanks
