So since the beginning of April 2020 we have been remote like most people in the US and those that had notebooks just VPN into the office for file access and have been running jabber for phones.
For those that had home computers we were allowing that also but due to some Cyber Security issues they can not now and can only connect using Company owned equipment that is under our control and this has raised some issues due to supply chain issues so we started playing with AWS and cloud desktops. This keeps everything secure, they are on our domain, and have access to the resources they need via our Amazon pipes (multiple 10 gig lines) . These initial 20 or so have been running jabber on that virtual desktop for 2+ months without an issue but the latest round we just built are having random issues.
Audio issues, Unity complaining the system is not responding in time (aka missing phone calls with no ringing, etc). We chased down some of the issues as AWS cloud doesn't keep very accurate time, etc (Some workstations were up to 12 minutes off) This has ben fixed as we have Stratum 3 NTP servers they all sync with now. But still having issues and wondering if anybody else is doing this, how it's working, issues, any special settings needed, etc?
I'm willing to share info assuming it doesn't touch our internal processes.
Running Jabber 12.9.3 (was running on 12.9.0 same issues), CUCM 11.5.1.15900-18, yes we have IM&P, CUC, etc all matched to same version and yes it all sync's to same NTP server which is on prem in our office. Workstations in the AWS cloud are on domain, using AWS AD DC's that are NTP sync'd, etc. Currently these workstations are in both us-east-1 and us-west-2 ping times for these workstations to our on prem gear is less then 40ms.
Our intention over the next 4 months is to start moving many of our employees to these workstations as many of them are due for equipment upgrades and it's cost effective with over 90% of our company being here in 18-24 months (Talking 1000 people at this moment). As this makes patching, on boarding off boarding, backups, hardware changes (Add disk, ram, CPU cores, etc) way easier then playing hardware games in the office and now with people being remote the complexities of scheduling, etc.
Thanks in advance.

That deployment is not supported AFAIK, only Citrix and Horizon are supported for Jabber deployment on virtual environments:
