Unable to deploy CWMS OVF

I'm unable to deploy the CWMS 2.8 OVF. When I try to use the Flash or HTML5 vCentre clients I get errors about unexpected content in the OVF.

 

I can't use the Windows vSphere client as I'm on vCentre 6.5 and that doesn't support the windows clients. (The ESXi machine for CWMS is only 6.0 which is supported)

 

Suggestions?

Hi there

 

Just curious to know if you are hitting this, if thats the case its fixed in version 3.0.1.27

Symptom:
CWMS OVA can not be deployed on vCenter 6.5 from web client.

When you try to deploy CWMS in vCenter 6.5 from web client you will get following error:

"Issues detected with selected template. Details:
-406:18:PARSE_ERROR: Unexpected/mixed content."

Conditions:
CWMS OVA deploy on vCenter 6.5 from web client.

Workaround:
None.

 

Known Affected Releases:
(2)
2.7
2.8
 
 
Known Fixed Releases:
(1)
3.0.1.27

Definitely sounds like it. My only problem, then, is: Can a 3.0 CWMS system be restored from a 2.8 backup?

I havent checked the restoring part. But if you planning for an upgrade to 3.0, you have to update to 2.8MR1 Patch 2 or later then upgrade to 3.0.

My problem is that my 2.8 system isn't booting...

Is that a new deployment. If the VM is not booting then its sounds like inadequate CPU, memory, and free disk space.

Is this a new 2.8 deployment. If then please check the system requirements for your system size and ensure that there is enough CPU, memory, and free disk space.
