Webcam for Jabber Not Working

Hello,

We recently updated to Jabber 12.6. One user cannot use their webcam with Jabber. They have an internal webcam and also a Logitech C270. The cameras work with everything else. When I plug the Logitech into the computer, Jabber recognizes it but still cannot load a video. We are using a Lenovo Thinkpad. A Lenovo X1 Carbon with the same camera works. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program. We used the repair tool. We have deleted and reinstalled the drivers. We even tried a suggestion in the registry editor with these steps:

1.  Add a the following registry entry.
2. HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows Media Foundation\Platform,
3.   Create a new DWORD key named: "EnableFrameServerMode" and set the value to “0”

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi there

Not sure if this recommendation still relevant in your case. This was a known issue with 9.X.

Video calls on a Lenovo ThinkPad W500
The following issues exist for video transmission on Lenovo ThinkPad W500 computers if the integrated
camera uses certain versions of Ricoh drivers:
• Video does not transmit correctly. In some instances, video callsresult in empty, or white, video windows
for the user who either sends or receives video.
• Cisco Jabber for Windows stops functioning correctly if you end a video call after the video adapts from
a low resolution up to a high resolution. For example:
1 The video call begins with a resolution of 320x240.
2 The video resolution then quickly adapts up to a resolution of 640x480.
3 You end the video call.
4 Cisco Jabber for Windows stops functioning correctly.
To resolve these issues, you should remove the Ricoh driver for your integrated camera so that your computer
uses the default Microsoft UVC driver.
Note This issue has occurred with the following Ricoh driver versions:
• 1.32.500.0
• 1.25.500.0

Hope this Helps
