In our environment, we keep the install package for the webex app on an install server. When the field services folks build out a new laptop to be deployed, after the image is loaded, there are scripts that run specific installs, one of which is for Webex. We do this because we do not give users local admin rights to their issued laptops.
The problem that we run into at times is the version of Webex that was installed is too old for the applications built in update process to work and it forces the user to go download the latest version from the Webex website. In our case, this fails because the user doesn't have local admin rights to install it.
To help our desktop engineering team make sure they keep a new enough version of the webex installer on the server, I am trying to find out what the trigger is that forces the user to download a new version. Is it X number of versions behind? Is it x number of months? That kind of thing.
Thanks.
