Worker using landline vs other source

I'm a contractor who workers for a separate business. I have to sign in through a landline phone(Cisco Unified Communication), for my hours to register. 

Is it possible to sign in through any mobile, pc phone, landline, etc? If not, how would I sign in other than using the copmanies registered landline?

this is only possible if your organisation/company supports Mobile Jabber.  This way you can use a smartphone to run Jabber/softphone
