How to Load TC Series Software to Codec from Scratch

The attached document details the method and procedure to load the TC series software to the codec from scratch. Document is written based on the used of Cisco TFTP server v1.1 (http://www.brothersoft.com/cisco-tftp-server-220729.html)

Requirements:

a) TC software

b) TFTP server

c) Serial cable

d) u-boot.bin file (attached)

e) pkgextract.elf file (attached)

Applicable to the following codec (as of now) :

a) C20

b) C40

c) C60

d) C90

e) EX60

f) EX90

g) MX200

h) MX300

i) SX20

Hello, I think pkgfiles_uboot.rar.zip is for C40 or else, because then try make this for my C20 - get error.

The above command should be setenv saturnpkg s52000tc2_0_1.pkg....

no need to change the name to that of the codec used. Just leave it as saturn.

I think the reason of this error can be - not correctly working Cisco TFTP server, because it dont show any Logs, any activity then try upload software.

Maybe I do something wrong.

I set for Cisco TFTP server root address (C:\Program Files\Cisco Systems\Cisco TFTP Server\pkgfile). Maybe need make some more in this?

Hello,

You are trying to load TC2.0.1 for some reason (s52000tc2_0_1.pkg). C40s only support TC3 as minimum and I would recommend that you uploaded a more recent version than that.

This will not help you file not found message but trying to upload TC2.0.1 will not help you. What files do you have in your pkgfile directory?

Hello, I try upload software to our Tandberg C20 demo.

in pkgfile directory is this three files:

s52000tc2_0_1.pkg

pkgextract.elf

u-boot

The command to start upload is this:

setenv serverip xxx.xxx.134.247

setenv tftp_path pkgfile

setenv saturnpkg s52000tc2_0_1.pkg

run pkgex

setenv saturnpkg s52000tc2_0_0.pkg, is this s typing misake? should be s52000tc2_0_1.pkg

Suggest you run through this with a TAC's help to see if everything is done correctly.

Else, codec might really be having an issue.

Is there also such a process for the E20?

I only have image1 and not image2, this seems to be corrupted.

Image1 has an unknown password (admin and root account password unknown).

** Presentation ## doesn't work

Switching images by pressing 4 and 6 obviously doesn't work also, I only get the SNOOPY> prompt then.

Just being able to reset the password would be fine too...

Managed to log in as root now and deleted config.db to reset the password.
Seems that Putty didn't understand my breaks and had to use the menu for this.

Upgraded and now have two images again.
