Cisco switched and routers product details

Hi, 
I just wanted to know that which API I can use in my code to fetch details(expiry, license and other basic info.) of Cisco switches and routers product.

Depending and device and IOS code running, most of the API calls can get you that information,

In case the device do not support API, then you need to rely on any Python script using SSH connection or SNMP.
