ACD Line Apprearance

Can someone confirm or deny for me some information I've been recently told? I was told that the ACD had to be the last line apprearance on the phone, is this correct? If so why? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

It does not have to be the last line, just a suggested configuration.

The thought behind it would be that the user would not grab the ACD line when making outbound calls.

I have phones configured with just an ACD line, and some it the last or first line.
