I`m looking to add Egain/CIM to the agents desk top . Ive read doc but it does not make sense
Cisco`s version
You need to perform this task only if you are accessing the Unified EIM and WIM application through Cisco
Finesse.
To update the finesse file:
1. On the Finesse server, locate the egain_server_url.js file.
2. In the file locate the Unified EIM and WIM URL and update the URL by adding
&finesse=1&layout=narrow to the end of the URL. For example, the URL will look like:
var egain_server_url =
"http://<Web_Server_FQDN>/<Context_Root_Name>/web/view/platform/common/login/top.js
p?partitionId=1&finesse=1&layout=narrow";
or Egain`s version
To configure the egain_server_url.js file:
1. Copy the contents of the Finesse folder from the installation DVD to a temporary directory,
Temp, on your local machine.
2. From the Temp\Finesse folder open the egain_server_url.js file in a text editor.
3. Locate the following text in the file:
var egain_server_url =
"http://<Web_Server_FQDN>/<Context_Root_Name>/web/view/platform/common/lo
gin/top.jsp?partitionId=1";
Replace <Web_Server_FQDN> with the fully qualified domain name of the eGain web server. If
the deployment uses a load balancer, provide the fully qualified domain name of the load
balancer.
Replace <Context_Root_Name> with the context root name defined for the application at the
time of installing eGain.
If the installation is configured with SSL, replace http with https.
The question is since Finesse is Linux how do I obtain the file?
It seems to suggest that I locate the file in Finesse make the change so the file points to egain then make the necessary changes in the desktop however where do I locate the file and how do I make changes? I do I review an existing set up or change it in Finesse to point to a different address
