Does this environment have an existing Cisco VoIP deployment for dial tone?

If they do, then not really. UCCX will build upon existing Cisco UCM call control, gateways, phones, and switch infrastructure. You will want to follow the UCCX SRND and Hardware/Software compatiblity guides:

Cisco Customer Response Solutions (CRS) Software and Hardware Compatibility Guide: http://cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_compatibility/matrix/crscomtx.pdf

Cisco Unified Contact Center Express Solution Reference Network Design, Release 7.0: http://cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_7_0/design/guide/uccx70srnd.pdf

If they don't and you're asking if you can "drop in" a VoIP system on a network without any planning: umm, No. :)

Cisco Unified Contact Center solutions consist of either Enterprise or Express.

UCC Express will only work with Unified Communication Manager or Communication Manager Express (which runs on IOS in an ISR or using UC500)

UCC Enterprise which also works with CUCM and other TDM. One of the IVR options is to use CVP which completely relies on Cisco IOS as its voice browser. That will be the piece that will rely on Cisco hardware. IPIVR does not depend on Cisco IOS and works directly with CUCM.

If it is purely CUCM deployment, then the only dependency is what works with CUCM in your design
