CUCM on SIP with Recorder with SCCP Phones

Hi,

We are integrating recording for our Contact center. Based on this diagram and documentation, I can see the phones can use SCCP while the integration with recording Server to CUCM is on SIP.

Is that going to work? SCCP phones while recording Server on SIP?

Thanks

Yasir

Hello,

It will work. Here's why:

SCCP is the signaling protocol from CUCM to the phones, and SIP is the signaling protocol from CUCM to the recording server. The recording server will send the instruction to CUCM which will relay it to the phone to start recording. The recording is based on the phone starting an ad-hoc conference bridge. The bridge is terminated on the phone handset with the recording server acting as a man in the middle.
The recording server will probably use JTAPI to instruct the phone to start recording. Thanks,James
