Whats the difference between CAD & CTIOS?
12-11-2006 06:52 PM
CAD used to be a client of the CTI server, but now it uses the CTI Object Server. In the lab it's always easier to get things going with the CTIOS Soft Phone than to use CAD straight away.
A CAD client (Agent or Supervisor) has a richer functionality than a CTIOS client (Agent or Supervisor), but comes with some baggage.
It does not scale as well, and has no Toolkit - with CTIOS you can extend the supplied Soft Phone in a number of languages, with the heavy lifting being provided by a set of Cisco supplied objects.
If you can make the CAD desktop integration work using keystroke macros you can save a lot of time.
The desktop you choose depends on the customer environment. What do you have?
