finesse desktop with jabber and ip phone

Hello,

 

a customer of mine with uccx version 11.6 in which agents use finesse desktop along with jabber client, asks for ip phones in case their PCs broke down. Is this possible? Any restrictions?

It sounds like you're talking about using FIPPA (Finesse IP Phone Agent) where the phone functions as Finesse and no desktop needed?

I've included a link about troubleshooting it and that goes over it in some detail, but I imagine that's what they want as some type of DR/backup?

the question is if an ip phone can replace the functionality of jabber client and finesse desktop of course, in case agent's pc breaks down. i have checked the release notes and i have found this statement below, so i m looking for workaround

The following configurations are not supported for agent phones:

Unified CCX extension that is assigned to multiple devices
