Internal network ulaw, external on alaw. Config assistance.

Hi folks,

Would need your suggestion in configuring G711alaw for E1 trunks. My internal Cisco Infrastructure is G711ulaw and Telco has set to G711alaw.

Need your inputs in configuring g711alaw. My SIP trunk between CUCM and VG uses G711ulaw. changing to G711alaw will solve my issue?

Hi Ritesh, 

If you have an transcoder configured, then there is no need to change the codec from ulaw to alaw.

Transcoding compresses and decompresses voice streams to match endpoint-device capabilities. Transcoding is required when an incoming voice stream is digitized and compressed.
