Can we install ucce 12.5(1) directly on fresh installation environment or first install 12.0 and then upgrade to 12.5(1) ?

Hello Tibin,

You can, in fact, install UCCE in a whole new environment. I would recommend that you follow Cisco's best practices while attempting to deploy this server, taking into account your network environment first.

Please use this link below as a guide through your deployment:

Thanks wflowers.

what are the inevitable UCCE Engineering Specials (ES) patches need to be installed on top of  12.5(1)  on fresh  ucce 2k model deployment?

Cisco introduced 12.5.1(a) UCCE/CVP/etc. software so if you're going to try and get to 12.5, you'll likely want to plan to get there and the mandatory ES that they have rolled out.

Here's some of the detail about it that they posted.

"In 12.5(1), after the initial release, CCE transitioned from Oracle to OpenJDK for the Java runtime environment. Newer installs and upgrades with 12.5(1a) base installer run with OpenJDK JRE while the older installs and upgrades with 12.5(1) base run with Oracle JRE. This engineering special enables 12.5(1) systems to transition to OpenJDK and is a mandatory prerequisite for receiving further maintenance patches on CCE."

Hello Tibin,

For a new 12.5 (1) implementation, Cisco has a rather extensive ES matrix. This is something I'd look at as a starting point. I personally setup a fresh version of 12.0 in my environment and installed the ES fixes, and then when 12.5 (1) was released, I updated and reapplied the ES patches for that release.
